Meet the Staff

Father John Nazzaro, Executive Director

Fr. John Father John knows what the club is about, having grown up in East Boston and attended the Club when it operated on Paris Street. Father John attended Savio High School before entering the Salesians, and has extensive experience in school administration and youth work in general. When he's not refereeing basketball games or greeting members at the door, we know he is doing those 101 little things that need to be done to keep the Club up and running.

Brock Seefeldt, Program Director

Brock Brock calls many U.S. cities "home." Most recently he has moved here from South Dakota where he worked in Boys & Girls Clubs in Watertown and Brookings. He attended the University of Minnesota and South Dakota State University, where he obtained a teaching certificate. At the club in Watertown, he was Director of the Teen Program and also developed a program for at-risk youth.

Anthony Forbes, Sports & Recreation Coordinator

Forbes Anthony is certainly no stranger to this Club, having grown up as a club member and, for the past few years, served as its program director. Anthony is the heart and soul of our gym program, and his repertoire of games is awesome.

Father Richard Cressman

Father Cressman Father Rich returned to East Boston after a ten-year presence at the Salesian Boys & Girls Club of Columbus (Ohio). Before that, he had worked at the Club on Paris Street for nine years and has taught math and sciences at Salesian High Schools. He has degrees from Penn State and Ohio State and worked for the USDA before becoming a Salesian. Father supervises the Learning Center, assists club members who need help with their schoolwork, and tutors in math & science. He also teaches chess. He is a native of Pennsylvania.

Father Richard Putnam

Father Putnam Father Richard is another native Bostonian and hails from Dorchester. He attended Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston, graduated from Boston State College, and taught in the Boston Public Schools and Hanson Public School system before joining the Salesians. He runs the evening snack program at the club, assists in the Technical Center, and shuttles members in the van when needed, including the "Salesian Shuttle" every afternoon at 3 PM!

Brother Robert Metell

Brother Robert Metell We welcome Brother Bob back to the Salesian Club after a nine-year absence. He is a Boston native by birth but calls East Falmouth on Cape Cod his home. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he became acquainted with Boys & Girls Clubs. He worked in the Clubs in New Bedford and Columbus, Ohio, besides his time here in East Boston and has experience in various types of administration and youth involvement. He also has been active in youth ministry in other Salesian communities, most recently, in Belle Glade, FL. He now supervises the Game Room.

Her experience includes being a Kindergarten teacher at St. Mary's school for five years and the Girls Camp Director for East Boston camps for six years. For years Jim has been the support person whose steady routine makes it possible for the rest of us to do our jobs. Whether it's sweeping, mopping, disinfecting or emptying wastebaskets--he's on it! Even Jim is not sure how long he has worked here!
