Meet the Staff
Father John Nazzaro, Executive Director
Father John knows what the club is about, having
grown up in East Boston and attended the Club when it operated on Paris Street.
Father John attended Savio High School before entering the Salesians, and
has extensive experience in school administration and youth work in
general. When he's not refereeing basketball games or greeting
members at the door, we know he is doing those 101 little things that
need to be done to keep the Club up and running.
Brock Seefeldt, Program Director
Brock calls many U.S. cities "home." Most recently
he has moved here from South Dakota
where he worked in Boys & Girls Clubs in Watertown and Brookings.
He attended the University of Minnesota and South Dakota State
University, where he obtained a teaching certificate. At the club
in Watertown, he was Director of the Teen Program and also developed a
program for at-risk youth.
Anthony Forbes, Sports & Recreation Coordinator
Anthony is certainly no stranger to this Club, having grown up as a club
member and, for the past few years, served as its program director.
Anthony is the heart and soul of our gym program, and his repertoire of
games is beyond imagination.
Father Bill Ferruzzi,
Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Father Bill was born in Boston and raised in Revere. He attended
St. Dominic Savio High School during its "infancy years," when there was
no gym, hardly any land, and no residence--the Salesians lived in the
school building! He is responsible for coordinating the religious
activities of the club and also serves as the Technology Center
Coordinator, Webmaster and "semi-official" photographer.
Father Richard Cressman
Father Rich returned to East Boston last year after a ten-year absence.
Previously, he had worked at the Club on Paris Street for nine years.
Father moderates the Chess Club, helps in the Learning Center several
days a week and also tutors club members that need help with their
schoolwork.
Brother Alfred Flatoff
Brother Alfred hails from Wisconsin, but is no stranger to Boston,
having lived here for some time in our other schools and retreat
houses. Brother is our kitchen supervisor and prepares our daily
snacks. He also does purchasing for the Club and is in charge of
"environment." He loves decorating!
Father Richard Putnam
Father Richard is another native Bostonian who hails originally from
Dorchester. He attended Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston
before joining the Salesians. He can be found most often in the
games room and also runs the "Salesian Shuttle" every afternoon at 3 PM!
Maria Waldron
Maria is certainly well-known around this Club, and she returns to help
in the Learning Center on Mondays and Wednesdays. She is also
responsible for those delicious aromas that drift out of the kitchen
during cooking class!
Katie Forbes
Katie is new to our staff this year and runs the Dance Studio three
afternoons and evenings during the week. It is one of our newer
activities, and, by all accounts, an extremely popular one! It's
almost always packed in there.
Renee Landry
Renee is the first and last person that all club members see when they
enter and leave! She
handles the membership data, enters member data into the computer,
generates reports, issues receipts, makes phone calls, distributes
flyers, watches the doors...let's just say her job is essential to the
smooth running of the Club.
Ed Demaso
Ed returns to our staff this year, continuing as our Tech Support person
and Network Administrator. He has the daunting task of keeping our
40+ computers talking to one another. He also runs our
science-related activities and moderates the Technology Center in the
evening.
Robert Baglio
Robert was, just a few short years ago, another "Club Kid." This
is his second year on staff. He helps out in the gym and games
room and also runs the Teen Room and is our Keystone Club Moderator.
Mario Baldassari
Besides helping out in the gym and games room, Mario staffs the art room
several times a week. Mario was our 2008 Youth of the Year.
Nick McCue
Nick has graduated from club member to club staff this year, and takes
on the awesome responsibility of overseeing our state-of-the-art Fitness Center.
Jim Gleason
Jim appears at the bottom of our staff page only because he's holding
the whole thing up! For years Jim has been the support person
whose steady routine makes it possible for the rest of us to do our
jobs. Whether it's sweeping, mopping, disinfecting or emptying
wastebaskets--he's on it! Even Jim is not sure how long he has
worked here!
